Continuous operation breaks day-based attendance
Most attendance software assumes a day is the unit. In a hospital the unit is the shift, and a shift that starts at 22:00 belongs to a different pay calculation than the calendar date it ends on. Getting that wrong produces payroll a ward sister will not sign off.
- Each employee has their own duty times rather than a hospital-wide default
- Punches are bucketed to the correct shift automatically
- Double-shift staff carry a separate salary per shift
- Late marking is disabled for staff with no saved duty time, so nobody is penalised against a default they never agreed to
