Where this fits, and where it does not
Mobile attendance is genuinely useful for a narrow set of roles and actively harmful for the rest. For staff who pass a gate every day, a biometric terminal is faster, harder to game and cheaper to run. Phone marking earns its place only where no terminal exists.
- Good fit: field engineers, sales staff, multi-site supervisors, small satellite offices
- Poor fit: anyone who already walks past a terminal twice a day
- Never a replacement for gate attendance where a gate exists
- Intended to complement terminals, and to write into the same daily record
